The Economist on Parallel Processing

It’s usually a mixed bag when the popular press tries to take on something that approaches the bleeding edge of new technology. However, The Economist is no ordinary rag, and their treatment of parallel processing does a fine job of introducing the public to something that should be simple, but isn’t.

I was a little surprised that there was no mention of Nvidia and their CUDA architecture (not to mention OpenCL), which have done much more to popularize parallel processing than Intel and their small scale parallelism, but I guess that’s where the popular press stops: right when approaching the bleeding edge.
